The Role
This person will work as a member of the Reliability Team. The primary objective of this role is to setup, maintain and conduct component, system and vehicle level tests in accordance with procedures. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in fabrication and system level maintenance, troubleshooting and testing.
Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate & assembly of test fixtures
- Run tests: setup, detailed inspections, maintenance and retrofits
- Root cause and report issues: Document and report issues identified during test or inspections. Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical & electrical issues discovered. Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stake holders
- Support engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition setup and logging
- General test equipment maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Be able to support and mentor other technicians to help develop the team
Requirements
- Experience as an Engineering technician or 3+ years as a Service or Manufacturing technician
- 2 year technical/automotive degree preferred
- Experience with fabrication equipment (e.g. Band Saw, Drill Press)
- Analytical problem solving skills & root cause analysis
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with MS office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project)
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required
- Extensive knowledge of either: hydraulic and/or pneumatic actuators highly preferred
- Mill and lathe experience highly preferred
- Ability to assemble/design custom 12v wire harness for test fixtures highly preferred
- High voltage certification or past work experience highly preferred
- Linux based script writing or some Python experience highly preferred
